Signs of Pregnancy You Must Know
Being late is indeed one of the main signs of pregnancy. However, there are some other symptoms that you can recognize even before menstrual delays are detected.
Every woman experiences different signs of pregnancy. However, it never hurts to recognize general signs besides being late for the month so that the pregnancy is diagnosed more quickly.
Unrecognized Signs of Pregnancy
Below are some early signs of pregnancy that deserve attention.- Changes in the breast. Hormonal changes in early pregnancy can make breasts feel denser, more sensitive, and firmer. Nipples appear more (prominent) and darker in color with more visible blood vessels on the surface of the breast skin.
- More frequent urination. Changes during pregnancy also cause most women more often want to urinate early in pregnancy, especially at night. At a later stage of pregnancy, the urge to urinate is more caused by the enlargement of the uterus which compresses the bladder.
- Feeling very tired. Unbearable and frequent fatigue without cause can be an early symptom of pregnancy. These symptoms can continue especially in the early 3 months of pregnancy. This condition is generally caused by increased levels of progesterone and changes in blood production, heart rate, and body metabolism. Avoid dealing with fatigue by consuming caffeine which can harm the fetus. As much as possible overcome this condition by consuming nutritious food and getting enough rest.
- Nausea and vomiting. Nausea and vomiting are generally only felt at 6 weeks gestation. But these symptoms can also appear earlier. This condition will usually disappear after entering the age of 12-16 weeks of pregnancy. This situation is more common in the morning due to the accumulation of stomach acid during your sleep. Nausea and vomiting can be prevented by keeping the stomach empty. Eat food little by little, but more often. Eating mint candy or ginger can also relieve symptoms.
- Sensitive to smell. Nausea experienced in early pregnancy is generally caused by the sense of smell which becomes sharper against certain odors, both positive scented, such as fragrance oils, or negative scented such as cigarette smoke. Foods with certain scents that are commonly consumed also suddenly make nausea, especially strong-scented ones like eggs and onions.
- Loss of appetite. Increased hormone levels and sensitivity to odors can make pregnant women become less appetite to eat foods that were previously consumed.
- Constipation. Hormonal changes can cause the performance of the digestive system to slow down, leading to constipation.
- Mood that is easy to change. Hormonal changes can also make you feel more emotional. Mood quickly changes for no apparent reason.
- Dizzy. Dizziness is often felt early in pregnancy due to a decrease in blood pressure and narrowing of blood vessels.
- Spots of blood. Sometimes pregnancy begins with patches of blood coming out of the vagina. Spots of blood that appear to be a sign of sticking fertilized eggs in the uterine wall.
